Lolita's Restaurante has been serving up delicious homemade breakfast tacos in Waco, Texas since the 1980s. This family-run restaurant is a Waco institution, and one of my favorite places in town for an incredible Tex-Mex breakfast.

I visited Lolita's at 10:00 on a Saturday morning. I had hit the busy brunch rush, so had to wait about 15 minutes after ordering for the tacos to arrive, but that's on me for coming at the busiest time of the week. In the meantime, I ordered a cup of their diner-style drip coffee, took my number card, and sat down at a table. The amazing breakfast tacos were completely worth the wait, though.

Breakfast tacos come in various combinations of beans, potatoes, chorizo, super crispy fried bacon, and scrambled egg served on a soft, homemade flour tortilla. You can certainly find the combo that you prefer on their menu or build your own.

The tacos are served with a cup of mild tomato salsa. It's not spicy, but it gives a great freshness and sweetness when added to the tacos.

Lolita's is one of my favorite places to eat for breakfast in Waco. It's a simple, no-frills restaurant that lets the food speak for itself.

Price

Breakfast tacos cost a reasonable $3.50 each. A small cup of coffee is $1, and a large cup is $2. All in all, it's a delicious and affordable breakfast.

Lolita's is located near downtown Waco at 1911 Franklin Ave, Waco, TX 7670. It's not far from Interstate 35, downtown Waco, and the Baylor University Campus.

Lolita's is open Tuesday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm; Saturday 7:00am to 2:00pm; and Sunday 8:00am to 2:00pm. they are closed on Mondays.

It can get busy, especially on the weekend breakfast rush, but there is plenty of seating inside and outside on the patio.
