"Mac Momma": Buffalo Fried Chicken Mac and Cheese

I have driven by Uncle Worm's in Waco, Texas many times, but never stopped in.
Maybe it was the name, which admittedly is a bit odd, but for whatever reason I never felt called to step inside. However, I was visiting my parents recently, and my dad and I wanted to try somewhere new. Almost on a whim we decided to visit Uncle Worm's.
It was spectacular!

I ordered the "Mac Momma". Cavatappi pasta is loaded up with fried chicken tossed in a spicy buffalo sauce, green onions, a drizzle of ranch dressing, and lots and lots of cheese.
The flavors were awesome and the portion was huge. Everything tasted very high-quality, and they didn't skimp on any ingredients.
The chicken itself was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the combination of smoky and spicy buffalo sauce blended so well with the cooling flavors of creamy ranch and melted cheese.

I will certainly be back. Let this be a lesson that, especially where restaurants are concerned, we should never judge a book by its cover (or its name, as the case may be)!
Uncle Worm's was phenomenal, and I'm excited to visit again and try more items off of their menu.

Uncle Worm's Texas Cuisine is not a barbecue place, but rather a smokehouse. Their meat is smoked in-house, and every dish is clearly made with care. Try their signature 1/2 lb. smoked cheeseburger for an incredible smoky twist on an American classic!

Prices are reasonable. The Mac Momma - a portion so big that I easily could have shared it or brought half of it home for dinner - cost $12.

Location
Uncle Worm's Texas Cuisine is located at 6500 N 19th St, Waco, TX 76708. It's a little way out of town, but worth a detour. It's not far from Waco Mammoth National Monument and Waco Regional Airport.

It's a very cozy country-style smokehouse with plenty of seating, a bar selling $2 Lone Star beers, and Karaoke on Friday nights.
