Crab Noodles
by Mung Korn Khao Noodle, Bangkok, Thailand (Chinatown)
It was late at night in Bangkok's crazy Yaowarat Road neighborhood. Busses, taxis, and tuk-tuks whipped past under the neon lights of the shops, restaurants and hotels.
I sat down at a local street food restaurant for a bowl of crab noodles to take a brief rest from the beautiful chaos of the city,
Mung Korn Khao, or "White Dragon" Noodles, is a famous old shop in Bangkok's Chinatown. It doesn't have a physical building or address, but instead sets up a cart at the corner of the alley each evening after the sun goes down.
I ordered a bowl of dry noodles (without soup broth) with crab meat.
The noodles arrived quickly. The portion was small (a common comment I found when reading online reviews), but the noodles were really good, and the amount of crab meat in the serving was pretty generous.

The noodles had a wonderful rich oily savoriness that went really well with the juicy and sweet crab meat. The bowl was also topped with crispy fried garlic and chopped green onions for extra aromatic flavor.

Menu
The menu is easy to follow and is clearly printed in Thai, English, and Chinese.
The shop only takes cash, so be sure you have Thai baht on you or visit a nearby ATM before sitting down to eat.
While the food is really good, my one complaint is that the portion size is a little small for the price you pay.
