Kuay Jap Ouan Pochana (ก๋วยจั๊บ อ้วนโภชนา)
Peppery Rolled Noodle Soup in Bangkok, Thailand
Kuay Jap is a delicious and hearty Chinese-Thai dish found all throughout Bangkok's Chinatown. The most famous kuay jap restaurant has to be Kuay Jap Ouan Pochana, which has won Michelin's Bib Gourmand award for many years.
Kuay jap is a soup made from a strong peppery broth and filled with special rolled-up rice flour noodles, bites of crispy pork, and green onion.
At Kuay Jap Ouan Pochana, despite the shop's fame, prices are kept low and affordable for everyone.

The soup here starts off with a bowl of that iconic peppery broth. The soup is filled with a good portion of rolled kuay jap noodles, which have a soft and chewy texture. It's then loaded up with slices of fatty crispy pork belly and an optional boiled egg. I recommend adding the egg. It's just 10 baht more, and it adds a bit of extra richness to the soup.

Menu and Prices
The menu is simple. A small bowl of pork noodle soup costs 60 baht and a large bowl costs 100 baht. You can add an egg for 10 baht and a serving of patongo (Chinese-style fried donuts) for 10 baht).

Location
The restaurant is located in Bangkok's Chinatown neighborhood at 408 Yaowarat Rd, Chakkrawat, Chakkaphat, Bangkok 10100. It is only open at night, from 6pm until 3am.
Another favorite kuay jab restaurant is located just down the road, and is open earlier in the day. Check it out if you happen to be in Chinatown during lunchtime before Ouan Pochana opens.
