Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Curry Pizza

A restaurant just outside of Salt Lake City takes two beloved comfort foods: American pizza and Indian curry, and combines them into an incredible fusion creation. Curry Pizza, which was even featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, serves up fresh oven-fired pizzas topped with the shop's signature curries.

I am visiting Salt Lake City, Utah and met up with an old friend for dinner at Curry Pizza.
We placed an order for two large pizzas to share. We ordered two signature dishes: chicken tikka masala pizza and butter curry pizza with chicken. After placing our order, the staff built the pizza right in front of our eyes and popped it into the big pizza oven behind the restaurant's counter. After paying our bill at the counter, it was just a few minutes before our pizzas arrived hot and fresh right out of the oven.
The chicken tikka masala pizza used a delicious masala curry as the sauce and was topped with melted mozzarella cheese, roasted bell peppers, roasted tomatoes, onions, jalapeño, cilantro, and fenugreek.
We also had the butter curry pizza with chicken. A delicious makhani curry (better known as Indian butter chicken curry) was topped with mozzarella, roasted broccoli, green onion, artichoke hearts, jalapeño, and fresh spinach.
It's an unexpected combination, but like all good fusion food, mixing together two delicious cuisines results in something really special.

As a side, we got an order of garlic and cheese naan breadsticks to share, which came with marinara sauce and ranch for dipping. Unlike regular pizza-style breadsticks, the naan breadsticks were thin and light and puffed up with air in the middle. The bottom was crispy where it had been cooked in the pizza oven, and the fusion flavors went together excellently. I definitely recommend getting the naan sticks to go along with your pizza.

Of course, you can also order traditional pizza flavors or customize your own pizza. Various traditional curry dishes are available to order as well if you aren't in a fusion mood. However, nearly everyone comes to Curry Pizza for... well, the curry pizza!
