I stepped inside the restaurant around lunchtime to find a big crowd of people already there. That's always a good sign, and since this is a fast-food joint, the lines moved pretty quickly.
The menu at Crown Burger is expansive, but I ordered the famous pastrami burger and a glass of iced tea. The cashier handed me a number ticket, and my meal was soon ready to pick up at the counter.
The burger was bigger than I expected. The beef paddy was thick and juicy and served with melted cheese, tomato, and lettuce atop a toasted sesame bun. The burger is laden with a generous serving of spiced pastrami, made right there in the shop and sliced kebab style right on top of the burger.
Of course, burgers in Utah are usually served with "fry sauce", a special sweet and tangy blend of ketchup, mayonnaise, and seasonings. Each shop usually has their own secret blend of fry sauce flavors. The pastrami burger is topped with fry sauce, and an order of fries or onion rings comes with extra fry sauce as well.

Crown Burger has a few locations around Salt Lake City, but I visited the branch at 118 N 300 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84103, which is in walking distance to Temple Square.
