"Sic'Em on a Chicken"

While visiting family in Waco, Texas, my mom and I stopped in for brunch at Milo All Day, an upscale-casual restaurant in downtown which serves "southern inspired, chef-driven cuisine". The food at Milo is a twist on classic southern US dishes and tends to be creative and inspired.
I wanted to have something classically southern and definitively "brunchy", so I ordered the "Sic'Em on a Chicken", a modern twist on the traditionally stodgy chicken and biscuits.

The 'Sic 'Em on a Chicken" is named after the team yell of local Baylor University's football team. This brunch dish, which really exemplifies southern cuisine, starts with a juicy and tender piece of southern-style fried chicken which has been brined in sweet tea. The fried chicken is topped with jalapeño coleslaw, pickles, sorghum chili syrup and sandwiched between two halves of a buttermilk biscuit.
The sorghum adds a sweetness, which melds really well with the mild spiciness of the jalapeño coleslaw, and the biscuit was cooked perfectly. It was light and fluffy with a buttery outside and a soft, airy inside.
The dish comes with a side of home fries, thick-cut pieces of salted and seasoned potatoes fried in a skillet and served with a side of ketchup.

Location
Milo All Day is located in downtown Waco, Texas at 1020 Franklin Ave, Waco, TX 76701. Milo All Day is open from 10 AM–3 PM for brunch and 5–10 PM for dinner but is closed on Tuesdays.
