Sunny Side Breakfast Bowl

In the heart of New York City, Le Pain Quotidien’s welcoming atmosphere invites you to pause and savor a wholesome French-style breakfast in comfort.

I ordered the "Sunny Side Breakfast Bowl", a hearty complete breakfast meal made from a salad base of caramelized onions, roasted Brussels sprouts, and golden cubes of sweet potato that round things out with their earthy sweetness, making each forkful a harmonious blend of flavors. Silky avocado slices provide a buttery contrast, while a sprinkle of citrus-cumin salt and crunchy pistachio dukkah (a north African spice and nut blend) adds just the right pop of brightness and crunch to keep your taste buds dancing.

At the heart of the bowl is a perfectly cooked organic sunny-side-up egg, its golden yolk plated invitingly atop a bed of nutty farro and tender, sauteed kale. It’s the kind of yolk that practically demands a little bread-dipping action, and fittingly the plate comes with two thick-cut slices of artisanal bread and a pat of fresh butter.

It was an incredibly filling, yet healthy meal for a day of exploring the "Big Apple", but it's far from the only delicious breakfast here!

Also try the skillet baked eggs with bacon and scallion, which also comes with a side of sourdough and butter. The eggs are fluffy and topped with thick-cut crispy bacon and savory slivers of scallion. You can't go wrong with either of these breakfasts.

Location

Le Pain Quotidien is located at 2161 Broadway, New York, NY 10024, United States in Manhattan's Upper West Side. The restaurant is open daily until 7PM, but I recommend eating for breakfast or brunch. Also try their delicious "crookie".
